A seeded polymerization method based on a new functional monomer, 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA-Cl), was proposed for the synthesis of a new type of monodisperse porous, hydrophilic microspheres with reactive character. By applying the method, poly(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate-co-ethylene dimethacrylate) (poly(HPMA-Cl-co-EDMA)) microspheres in the range of 4–7 μm, with specific surface areas between 2 and 146 m2/g, were obtained. The microspheres are hydrophilic in nature due to the hydroxyl groups and are easily derivatizable due to the reactive chloropropyl moiety. Ligands in the form of small molecules carrying hydrophobic alkyl or hydrophilic ion exchanger groups were covalently attached onto the microspheres via simple and one-pot reactions via their chloropropyl functionality. Using the same functionality, click chemistry and surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization were also applied for the generation of triazole ring and zwitterionic molecular brushes on the microspheres, respectively. Poly(HPMA-Cl-co-EDMA) microspheres seem to be a promising hydrophilic reactive material particularly for the synthesis of ion exchanger resins and chromatographic stationary phases. 相似文献

The use of lipases in industrial processes can result in products with high levels of purity and at the same time reduce pollutant generation and improve both selectivity and yields. In this work, lipase from Thermomyces lanuginosus was immobilized using two different techniques. The first involves the hydrolysis/polycondensation of a silica precursor (tetramethoxysilane (TMOS)) at neutral pH and ambient temperature, and the second one uses tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) as the silica precursor, involving the hydrolysis and polycondensation of the alkoxide in appropriate solvents. After immobilization, the enzymatic preparations were dried using the aerogel and xerogel techniques and then characterized in terms of their hydrolytic activities using a titrimetric method with olive oil and by the formation of 2-phenylethyl acetate in a transesterification reaction. The morphological properties of the materials were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, measurements of the surface area and pore size and volume, thermogravimetric analysis, and exploratory differential calorimetry. The results of the work indicate that the use of different silica precursors (TEOS or TMOS) and different drying techniques (aerogel or xerogel) can significantly affect the properties of the resulting biocatalyst. Drying with supercritical CO2 provided higher enzymatic activities and pore sizes and was therefore preferable to drying, using the xerogel technique. Thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry analyses revealed differences in behavior between the two biocatalyst preparations due to the compounds present. 相似文献

In this article we propose a 0-1 optimization model to determine a crop rotation schedule for each plot in a cropping area.
The rotations have the same duration in all the plots and the crops are selected to maximize plot occupation. The crops may
have different production times and planting dates. The problem includes planting constraints for adjacent plots and also
for sequences of crops in the rotations. Moreover, cultivating crops for green manuring and fallow periods are scheduled into
each plot. As the model has, in general, a great number of constraints and variables, we propose a heuristics based on column
generation. To evaluate the performance of the model and the method, computational experiments using real-world data were

We demonstrate radial confinement and waveguiding of light in an ultracold anisotropic gas. The waveguiding medium is a laser cooled ensemble of rubidium atoms confined in a trap of large aspect ratio. A recoil induced resonance (RIR) is used to create strong dispersion and large gain in this ensemble. The combination of the anisotropic trap and the RIR give rise to a spatially varying group refractive index resulting in a slow-light optical waveguide. Waveguided pulses of light experience strong gain (approximately 50), low group velocities (c approximately 1500 m/s), and long group delays (delta approximately 7 micros) due to the enhanced path length. 相似文献

In this contribution, we report results from MRI studies of the propagation of heavy metal ions through columns packed with sandy aquifer materials. Both sorption of low concentrations of heavy metal ions from water flowing through the column and the formation of sorption traces produced from initially localized higher concentrations of heavy metal ions, and the remobilisation of adsorbed ions with time and changing hydrochemical conditions were studied. Multislice spin-echo and FLASH techniques were used for the imaging experiments. Advantages and problems of the different imaging protocols for the study of aquifer materials are discussed. 相似文献

Julocrotine, N‐(2,6‐dioxo‐1‐phenethyl‐piperidin‐3‐yl)‐2‐methyl‐butyramide, is a potent antiproliferative agent against the promastigote and amastigote forms of Leishmania amazonensis (L.). In this work, the crystal structure of Julocrotine was solved by X‐ray diffraction, and its geometrical parameters were compared with theoretical calculations at the B3LYP and HF level of theory. IR and NMR spectra also have been obtained and compared with theoretical calculations. IR absorptions calculated with the B3LYP level of theory employed together with the 6‐311G+(d,p) basis set, are close to those observed experimentally. Theoretical NMR calculations show little deviation from experimental results. The results show that the theory is in accordance with the experimental data. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The influence of molecular weight and the amount of the poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) on the growth of poly(vinylpyrrolidone)–based films on copper surfaces was studied by electrochemical, infrared and electronic spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric methods. Complex polymer/metal ions were deposited onto a copper surface, as the result of the electrochemically generated reaction of copper cations with PVP and SCN?, in sulfuric acid media. Spontaneous film growth on copper surfaces was generated and characterized as a Cu(II)/PVP/SCN? complex. Infrared spectra and thermal gravimetric curves of the films generated at + 0.7 V were compared with the chemically synthesized complex, and show the same patterns. The oxidation process can be described as: Cu(0)→Cu(I) and Cu(I)→Cu(II), and the copper complex formed at more positive potentials was characterized as Cu(II)/PVP/SCN?, with copper bonded to the oxygen atom of PVP and thiocyanate ligand N‐linked. This study focuses on the complex formation on a copper surface in acid media and its characterization through electrochemical and spontaneously generated reactions. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The variations of thermal conductivity with temperature for Pb–Sn alloys were measured using a radial heat flow apparatus. The variations of electrical conductivity with the temperature for same alloys were determined from the Wiedemann–Franz law by using the measured values of thermal conductivity. According to present experimental results, the thermal and electrical conductivity of Pb–Sn alloys linearly decrease with increasing temperature but exponentially increase with increasing the composition of Sn. The enthalpy of fusion and the change of specific heat for Pb–Sn alloys were also determined by means of differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) from heating trace during the transformation from eutectic liquid to eutectic solid. 相似文献
